Apparently, I just realized that I live in a college town. Having had more than enough of functions that take place in the town square that feature horsey rides, hay and funnel cakes, something snapped in my head and I got online to take a look at the university’s calender of events.

Lo and behold, there was a presentation of Handel’s Messiah being held tonight! On short notice, and for tickets costing only $10, we were able to see a performance that seriously rivaled any that I’ve seen in the Big City. My eight-year old enjoyed it immensely. Tomorrow, we’re going to community theater, and next week, to a dance recital. It is like a portal to a city full of cultural goodness has just been opened. There are even galleries with current exhibits…from the Big City, no less.

Finally, something to do!
