As a teacher, I particularly hate it when I take my younger son shopping and see the ridiculous things that are on kid’s t-shirts now. Sayings like, “I’m the person your mom warned you about”. This is not an appropriate choice for an eight-year-old! Even worse are the shirts for girls that say things like P0rn Star, or Total B****. I can’t even begin to imagine what sort of parent would allow their daughter to wear these shirts, let alone purchase them! Actually, after working in alternative education for many years, I can, but I don’t really want to.

Since I consider myself an up and coming
Girl Mogul, I really like the line of apparel that is being offered by another woman who got fed up with the choices that are currently available. My favorite shirt is the one pictured above. While I have not reached hacker status, I am getting pretty darn good in the tech arena. I am the “go to” person at work whenever there is a computer problem.

I’m all about Girl Mogul, because I am definitely trying to get there. As with any goal, it’s best to make statements that indicate you are already where you want to be. With my foray into affiliate marketing, my writing, and other money making schemes, I think the label fits me. ;-)
I like how these shirts and accessories challenge the status quo. I’ve always been about presenting that challenge, and here in Nowhere, Texas, it doesn’t hurt for some of the good ole boys to challenge their thinking about women. I know if I had a daughter, she’d be wearing shirts like the ones offered at Girl Mogul. I would choose to empower her, not let the culture-machine chew her up and spit her out.
