Sometimes I have fun grabbing my checkbook and shopping in the
junior clothing section at the department store. Actually, I can’t figure out why the clothing in so many of the other sections is so dowdy. Why do people over 30 wear things like plaid Keds with pink petal pushers? Why? Why? This is more my style:

I found this shirt over at Heavenly Couture, which has lots of contemporary clothing at prices that don’t go over $17.95. Meaning…a lot of things cost less than $17.95. Nice. I had lots of fun browsing their shirt section, because shirts are the main piece of clothing that I buy. I’m happy with a couple of pairs of jeans a closet full of shirts. Here goes the rockabilly look:

I love how these two shirts give a completely different look to the same pair of jeans. I’d wear low strappy black heels with the first one, and put on a pair of cowboy boots with the second one, preferably with rhinestones.
What’s more, I’d wear the second ensemble to work. Perhaps I could implement a “rockabilly” day to supplement our “Hawaiian Shirt Day”, although I’m afraid that people might not get “rockabilly” here in the land of big trucks and 10 gallon hats.
If you’re the type of girl who likes to buy more than shirts, Heavenly Couture offers much more. I found some great belts from Chinese Laundry at even lower prices than most of the rest of their inventory. They also carry jackets (some really cute hoodies), skirts, dresses and a really nice line of basic camis and tees.

Bloggrrl goes rockabilly… Who knew?
