There’s a new kid in town, and it’s called Pay to Play. No, it’s not an adult service…sorry guys. It’s a new way to monitize your site. What happens is whenever someone clicks over to your site, they hear a five-second ad. You get paid each time the ad plays, so basically, you are getting paid each time someone clicks over to your site.

My first thought was, Oh my gosh, people are going to click right back out again. The thing is, though, the ad only lasts five seconds, so it’s over before you know it. The examples I heard weren’t those cheesy ones you hear on cheap marketing sites, either. The company is going after the big boys, so you may find yourself surfing the net and getting a craving for a Whopper. The idea is that companies are going after brand reinforcement. This is a good thing, because it means that people don’t have to leave your site via something like Adsense in order for you to get paid.

Besides getting paid every time someone visits your site, there is also a two-tier affiliate program. If this sounds good to you, get in now. The program doesn’t start until February, so this is still a new thing, and you never know, you might make some good money on your second tier affiliate earnings.

You can sign up here. It takes less than a minute.

Jon Symons has an audio clip of what the ads sound like on his site, just scroll down to the bottom of the post. I like the scratchy “movie voice” of the dude doing the Harley Davidson voiceover. In fact, it strikes me that installing Pay to Play might just be like installing a classy accessory to your site. In other words, the voices are sooo professional that it makes it seem like your site is a big time playa in the same league as Blockbuster or something like that.

I have some other sites that I am definitely going to use this on. I am still trying to decide whether or not it would be an asset for Bloggrrl. I suspect I’ll try it and then watch my subscriber numbers. ;-)
This looks like a win/win to me. I have nothing to lose, and neither do you. If you have a spare minute, click here to sign up.
