Sometimes it’s just not enough to apply sunscreen. My hours by the pool this summer taught me that. Even though I applied sunscreen religiously, by the end of the summer, I had some fine lines that I hadn’t had before. There’s a new product out called
R.G. Skin Revitalizer that contains an oil extract from a tropical “superfruit” called Red Gâc. It contains scads of antioxidants, which provide skin nourishment that may protect skin from the sun from the inside out. I’m sure it probably benefits overall health as well, as most brightly colored fruits and vegetables do. The operative ingredient in this product is beta-carotene, which helps with cellular rejuvenation and supports the structural integrity of tissues. An added bonus is that beta-carotene helps to boost the immune system, so while you’re working on being wrinkle-free, you can also avoid the colds that your children keep bringing home from school.

This particular fruit is popular in Vietnam, and is utilized there for its skin-revitalizing qualities. It is a gorgeous color. It is the exact color that I have been wanting to paint my living room, but I digress.

A nice thing about this product is that the Red Gâc plant grows abundantly in Vietnam. I just hate it when skin care products use rare ingredients that are environmentally harmful to harvest. This is certainly not the case with the prolific Red Gâc! It sounds like a beneficial supplement to both a healthy diet and a conscientious skin-care regimen.
