I made two hundred and four cents yesterday with the AdSense ads at the bottom of the sidebar. Since I spent a full working day at the computer writing posts, submitting to directories and teaching myself Photoshop, that would be $2.04/8 = $2.60 an hour. Cool. I’m gonna be rich.
Crud. Screwed up the decimal thingy. It’s $0.26 an hour. And yes, I am the person teaching your children.
So I “worked” all day yesterday and managed to make less than a factory worker in China laboring under slavelike conditions. Nice. I guess I really shouldn’t complain too much about sitting on a chaise lounge in the air conditioning eating strawberry Pocky while I make my 26 cents, though.
I won’t take expenses into consideration. It is too depressing.
However, if I got 30,000 readers, I could quit my job. I don’t know how many readers I currently have, because Feedburner doesn’t like me. At any rate, this is called Counting Your Chickens Before They Hatch. I had some chickens once, but the eggs didn’t hatch because there wasn’t a rooster. City people, you have to have a rooster or your eggs won’t hatch. Remember that so that you’ll be rich if you decide to become an egg mogul.
Currently, I am looking for a reader who wants to be the cash “cow” for my upcoming Cow Patty Bingo Contest. The cow will randomize the entries and select the winner. I am not looking for a rooster. Maybe I should be.

My adsense earnings recently went down. For a while I was averaging about $1 a day, and now it’s like $0.50. Best not to get too attached to it. As long as it pays my $9.95 a month hosting cost I’m happy.
lol i read “two hundred and four dollars” and i thought Wow, how did she do it!? but it’s “cents”…
oh and john chow only has about 5500 readers, i think you mean unique visits? when JC started monetizing his blog he had about 30k uniques per month, but even he had to start from nowhere before that.
two hundred and four cents is definitely a good place to start. but no, don’t quit your day job…not yet at least
After earning $2.94 in seven or eight weeks, I removed the Adsense ads.
I say what’s the point? It is only good for Adsense since they have hundreds of millions advertising for them. If you make .26 an hour how much does AdSense make? I read somewhere they won’t even cut you a check untill you make over $100. It might take a year or so.
I am patient, I will give it a year because it doesn’t cost anything.
I believe you can get stats by signing up for WordPress’ Stats Plugin.

I’m looking forward to getting 30,000 more readers, too!
Oops… er… stats on your feed, sorry!
At least it will pay off in the future… I have done over 20 posts on my blog and not made a cent but I know in the future it has the potencial to earn alot!
Hey Michelle,
$2.04 in one day!?! That is ridiculously GOOD for a new site… although it may not seem like much, that’s truly amazing. I hope you aren’t click frauding… Google does in fact blacklist sites that clickfraud. Stay away from it! Congrats on your first money-making “adventure”!
Wait you just open this blog and already complaining getting only $2 at the end of your day ?
Blogging isn’t quick money making scheme. So with your 10 posts so far you are doing very good. To make money from blogging takes lots of dedication and patience and yes it is very time consuming. But if you plan your success or to become successful blogger you got to plan.
Also if you need help with feedburner let me know ill be glad to help you out.
